I was so afraid that my niece might be afraid of a ball pit but it was the hit of her first birthday party!!! She giggled, rolled around, tossed the balls (tried to EAT a ball, lol) and grinned. We couldn’t get her out to open her other presents. Clearly I am the BEST.AUNT.EVER.

The basketball hoop part is tricky to fold. A sharp metal piece (the wiring inside) broke through and jabbed (blood!) me when I tried folding it. It was only the 2nd time if use. It doesn??t hold it??s shape. I don??t recommend for rough and tumble kids especially since the wire frame easily breaks.

The ball pit does NOT come with the play balls, you need purchase the pit balls seperately, we recommend 300-500 balls for playing, or at least 200 pcs for play.

Answer: No, you don??t have to connect the basketball hoop. The playpen arrives folded up. When you unfold it the basketball hoop is already attached.
